CR4ZY Dota 2 to Compete Against Top NA Teams in ESL One L.A. Online Championship

Mar 28, 2020

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of esports tournaments got delayed, canceled or transitioned online. The organizers of ESL One Los Angeles 2020 also decided to switch their format to meet current standards. Instead of a LAN event, we will have regional online leagues. The CR4ZY Dota 2 team will be one out of four teams to compete in the North American regional league – ESL One Los Angeles 2020 – Online: North America.

ESL One Los Angeles Online Championship

The new format for ESL One Los Angeles Online Championship consists out of six regional leagues: North America, EU/CIS, China, Southeast Asia, and South America. The competition will take place from the 28th of March until the end of April.

In the North American league, there will be four teams competing in a round-robin format. All matches will be a Bo3 series with the finals being Bo5. Each team will play one match per week. The top three teams advance to the playoffs. The overall prize pool is $200,000, one fifth for every region.

Skiter and KheZu to Play From EU

Due to global travel limitations, skiter and KheZu will be playing on the NA server from Europe. This situation is not ideal. Nevertheless, we are happy to take part in such a big tournament. The CR4ZY Dota 2 team is still new and decisions from ESL and Valve enable us to develop the team even more and get more experience while playing together. The esports industry as a whole is also facing big changes and here at CR4ZY, we will do everything to adapt to the circumstances.

CR4ZY Dota 2 vs. Top Dogs in NA

We will be competing against Evil Geniuses, business associates and Quincy Crew. Aui_2000, MoonMeander and co. will get their chance for redemption after losing to EG at the WeSave! Charity Play event several days ago. Unfortunately, the ESL One Online Championship is not a part of the Dota Pro Circuit and we won’t be able to earn some of those important DPC points this time.
