CR4ZY Weekly Update #8

Aug 19, 2020

A lot of things have changed since last week. Some great, some bad, and some in between. It’s a long one, so let’s get right to it with CR4ZY Weekly Update #8!

League of Legends

Our team really did a great job this season, so we need to commend them for their performance, skill, and effort they put into their gameplay. From all of us at CR4ZY to you, C4LoL/CR4ZY Gaming House team, thank you!

First, let’s start with our run through Esports Balkan League (EBL). We had an amazing streak, winning nearly every game and “ending” the season early by qualifying for European Masters. We really tried to take first place from SuppUp in the grand finale, but in the end, they were just better-prepared and more focused on the win, that day. Silver is still amazing and we were beyond happy with that result, however, the one thing we were not looking forward to, was the EUMasters play-ins group we were allocated to.

It may have been bad luck that EBL’s qualifier spot was put in a group with some of the toughest teams at EU Masters, but it is what it is. We made the best of it and did really well on day one, with 2 wins and 1 loss (to LDLC). Day two, on the other hand, started strong with a win against Lowland Lions, but beyond that, we lost all matches, including the tiebreaker which would have kept us in the tournament.

For now, our League of Legends season is over, but we aim to keep putting out great content from the team so you can see their progress and how they’re doing!

CS:GO

Our C4CSGO boys are back from vacation, and ready to play! Our current ranking on HLTV is 55th in the world due to lack of tournament performance since the break, but that’ll be changing very soon.

Unfortunately, the team wasn’t a full roster at IEM New York 2020 CIS Closed Qualifier, which ended our run there prematurely. We had to play with two stand-ins, THRONE and nat1ve, which we believed would still result in 50/50 odds for our success at the qualifier. Playing with two stand-ins is a difficult challenge to face, and we did the best we could, given the circumstances. We ended up losing to both Hellraisers and Invictus Int, 0:2 respectively.

We promised to be back together with no stand-ins on Monday, August 10th, 2020, but that also turned out to be false, because of another unlucky circumstance where our IGL Psycho’s entire building had electrical problems. This caused us to need to find a last-minute replacement, which ended up being Johnta, our Coach. We again lost to Hellraisers 0:2, as was somewhat expected.

Finally, the boys were back in action on the second matchday of Nine to Five #3, and we proved we’ve still got it by taking our opponent Nordavind’s map pick and pushing into OT to take our map pick, winning the match 2:0!

We’re also happy to announce that we’ve been invited to compete at Malta Vibes Week 8, starting Thursday, August 20th, where some very familiar faces may end up our opponents… we’re looking forward to it happening, hopefully, c0ntact gaming. That would be a game to see!

Chronologically, our next match is at Nine to Five #3, tonight, August 19th, 2020, at 18:00 CET, against Galaxy Racer. I’m sure it’ll be one you won’t want to miss!

Dota 2

Our C4Dota2 team is still competing, still grinding, and still within the top 30 in the world on the ESL charts (27th, after point decrease).

The team had a bit of a bumpy start at ESL One Thailand: Americas, against Thunder Predator, and 4Zoomers but within the last week we bounced back and evened out our score, winning two matches—one against Infamous and another against Gorillaz Pride.

Well done, and good luck on the match tonight, August 19th, 2020, at 19:00 CET against beastcoast!

That’s all for CR4ZY Weekly Update #8! Check back next week for more updates on all things CR4ZY Esports!
